One Soldier's Story

On Veterans Day, remembering Rick Caruolo, one of the first to die in Vietnam. He was my childhood hero, a TRUE hero, who gave his young life protecting his fellow Marines. As Michael Dionne, another kid on Lennon Street, wrote, “There’s a reason why the American flag is always flying at my home. It’s flying for Rickey, for giving up his life for everything that flag represents.” If you want to read Rick’s story and learn about another time in America's history, I’ve posted the full essay here.
